How long does a payment delivery take on doxo?
doxo always works to select the fastest payment delivery route available. Any payment done via doxo requires the completion of 2 steps – payment withdrawal from the user’s account and payment delivery to the biller.
The duration of payment withdrawal depends on the payment method you choose. Card payments, such as credit and debit cards, are authorized almost immediately. On the other hand, ACH payments made through bank accounts take up to 3 business days for verification due to bank rules regarding overdrafts and other processing errors before they can be remitted.
Over 70% of doxo bill payments are delivered electronically to billers. For billers directly participating in the doxo electronic payment delivery network, remittance is typically done in one business day. When remitting to billers on other electronic payment networks delivery takes 2-3 business days. For billers that are not participating in any electronic payment network delivery is made via check through the USPS. These bill delivery processes are the same as those used by bank bill pay systems for over 25 years.
If your biller is not enrolled in our “Fast Delivery” program, let them know they can speed up payments by enrolling directly on doxo’s payment network. Any biller can join doxo for free and benefit from electronic payment delivery. How doxoDIRECT works for billers.
Please be advised that the Payment Delivery date is always displayed before submitting your payment. It is crucial to verify this Delivery Date and ensure that it is prior to the Due Date for your bill payment. In case the Delivery Date is after the Due Date, please contact the biller directly to make the payment.
Once you have submitted a payment, you will be able to view your Payment Status page.
Additionally, you will receive an email receipt which will contain a link to the Payment Status page. This page will allow you to track the delivery of your payment at any time.
