New Bedford residents will swear up and down that the Whaling City has it all over Fall River. However, if you’re talking to someone from Fall River, they’ll insist that their city edges out New Bedford.
That’s not such a bad thing. It’s good when people are proud of where they’re from.
We could argue endlessly about which city has the best restaurants, which has more to do, which has more history, and which has more beauty. However, we’ve found some stats and facts from Doxo about which city is more affordable when it comes to the cost of living.
Doxo is a third-party online bill payment website that allows users to pay bills from a variety of companies in one place. In other words, they deal with bills all day, every day; it’s what they do.
They recently published statistics on which cities and towns in America are the most expensive and most affordable.
First of all, it probably won’t surprise you much to find out that Massachusetts ranks No. 3 for the highest bills in America. If you’re feeling the pinch in your wallet, that might be why.
Massachusetts residents spend more than $800 more each month on bills than the average American. Only California and Hawaii have higher bills. We’d probably complain less about our bills if we had the warmth and sunshine of those two states.
