Today, doxoINSIGHTS released the United States of Bill Pay: Washington State Household Bill Report 2021. The first of its kind, it compares the cost of living in different area across Washington. The report reveals that the average Washington resident spends $2,197 per month on bills. This figure is 16.3% higher than the national average of $1,889.
At 27 pages long, the report provides a detailed look into Washington’s average spending in 10 key bill categories. These are Mortgage; Rent; Auto Loan; Utilities (electric, gas, water & sewer, and waste & recycling); Auto Insurance; Cable & Internet & Phone, Health Insurance (consumer paid portion); Mobile Phone; Alarm & Security; and Life Insurance.
Seattle’s household bills are the highest in Washington state
doxo’s report also reveals the most and least expensive places for Washingtonians to live based on monthly bill spend. For example, residents of Seattle pay the highest monthly bills out of the 20 ranked cities in the state, at an average of $2,553 per month, which is 35.9% higher than the national average. On the other end of the spectrum, residents of Moses Lake pay the lowest household bills in the state, at $1,578 per month, or 16.5% lower than the national average.
