Senior Software Engineer

We need you to put your talents to work to make a big impact on our product and our company. We are looking for a high-energy, experienced software engineer with strong Ruby/Rails or Java capabilities. This is a chance to work with cutting edge technologies and tools, and to work closely with product management and other software engineers to build an exceptional web application. This position reports to the Vice President of Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain high quality software while meeting deadlines
  • Collaborate with Product Management on the definition of software requirements
  • Understand available technology options and accesses their strengths and weaknesses
  • Make selected new technologies available for use in the creation of software
  • Participate in the creation of internal and external documentation regarding the software

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Experience with high scale, distributed, 24×7 systems and applications
  • Fluency with Java or Ruby programming languages
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL in a highly transactional application
  • Experience with Linux platforms
  • Strong analytical and design skills
  • Capacity for learning quickly in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Be an advocate for the customer in the design and implementation of the software
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering
