Government Agencies Leverage doxo’s Easy to Implement, Cloud-Based Technology to Deliver Documents Electronically, Speed Collection of Bills and Tax Payments,…

Government Agencies Leverage doxo’s Easy to Implement, Cloud-Based Technology to Deliver Documents Electronically, Speed Collection of Bills and Tax Payments, and Significantly Reduce Operating Costs

SEATTLE, WA – April 25, 2012 – doxo, the all-in-one digital file cabinet and payment provider, today announced that a dozen state and local government agencies have joined doxo. doxo enables these government agencies to send bills, tax statements and other notices directly into the doxo filing cabinets of their residential and commercial customers. In turn, their customers can now go paperfree, receive documents and bills, and set-up one time and recurring payments, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – using doxoPAY and doxo Mobile.

When governments connect with residential and commercial customers on doxo, they eliminate the costs associated with printing and postage, shorten payment collection cycles for treasuries, and provide their customers with a convenient free tool to receive statements, pay bills, and store important documents.

“Like many government entities, we have been evaluating opportunities to improve service and cut costs by leveraging cloud-based technologies. In just the first 60 days since we launched on doxo, more than a thousand of our residents have already connected with us to go paperfree, receive their tax statements directly to their doxo file cabinet, and make their tax payments,” said Doug Lasher, Treasurer, Clark County Washington. “Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Making sure property taxes are paid on time is a breeze with doxo and free for the taxpayer. doxo is the wave of the future.”

In addition to the State of Washington, the county agencies now on doxo include Benton County, Chelan County, Clallam County, Clark County, Franklin County, Island County, Lincoln County, Pend Oreille County, Stevens County, Thurston County and Walla Walla County. Collectively, these government entities serve millions of residents and deliver tens of millions of documents per year.

In addition to receiving documents, bills, and tax statements from their participating government entity, customers can use doxo as a free online file cabinet to store documents and manage critical account information. Each time a customer connects to a service provider, paper mail is turned off completely, and documents are thereafter delivered directly to their digital file cabinet. Documents can be filed, printed, or downloaded at any time, and are securely stored without time limits.

“doxo makes it easy for state and county governments to reduce the expense of paper mail, eliminate environmental waste, and speed collection of payments,” said Steve Shivers, co-founder and CEO of doxo. “With very little IT hassle, government agencies and other providers can join doxo, and start improving service for residents and cutting costs in a matter of weeks. It’s extremely gratifying to already see both the magnitude of savings and the positive response from both residents and organizations alike.”

doxo empowers businesses and government organizations of all sizes to lower operating expenses and dramatically increase paperless adoption. As a cloud-based service doxo requires no software, installed infrastructure, or IT services for providers to join the network. More information for governments and other organizations looking to connect with their customers on doxo is available at www.doxoconnect.com.

The doxo Organizational Index ranks the top 25 cities in the country It’s Tax season again, a time when everyone…

The doxo Organizational Index ranks the top 25 cities in the country

It’s Tax season again, a time when everyone faces the piles of paper thinks about how organized they wish they were. We here doxo thought it would be a good time to recognize some of the places where organization is a priority. So, for those of you that can’t even read this because you are buried up to your eyeballs in paper clutter – April 16th is your chance to make good on that promise to be more organized in the coming year.

The doxo Organization Index (dOI)
The dOI was created to rank major U.S. cities based on a number of key organization factors, including recycling rates, individual income tax filing timeliness, junk mail cancellations, concentration of members of the National Association of Professional Organizers, with bonus points awarded to cities for sock drawer organization as well as cities with the greatest number of unique providers and documents uploaded in users doxo accounts.

Want to know how your hometown stacks up?
Here is a hint, if you are in Boston, chances are you’re got a pretty clean and organized desk. But if you are in Houston, you are still starting at piles of paper and putting off filing your taxes.
If you are wondering if we stacked the deck in our favor, check out Seattle’s ranking of 17 and decide for yourself.

Listing of the most organized cities reveals which are really winning the battle against clutter SEATTLE, WA – April 3,…

Listing of the most organized cities reveals which are really winning the battle against clutter

SEATTLE, WA – April 3, 2012 – Tax season is upon us, a time when most Americans are thinking back wistfully on that forgotten New Year’s resolution to get more organized, and feeling overwhelmed in their daily battle against clutter. New rankings released today from doxo, the all-in-one digital file cabinet and e-payment solution focused on helping consumers stay organized, show that Bostonians may have a leg up on the rest of the country this tax season.

Boston is a city bent on winning and thankfully, they didn’t have to wait 86 years for this title. The Massachusetts capital ranked as the number one “Most Organized City” of the 25 largest US Metros, based on the doxo Organization Index (dOI) which analyzes key organization indicators including a city’s propensity for recycling, fighting junk mail, and prompt filing of tax returns, with special bonus points for the most organized sock drawers. Beantown residents scored 97.7 out of 100 total points on the Index to bring home the title of most organized city. Residents of Houston, TX, on the other hand, seem to be dealing with relatively high disarray in their lives this tax season, coming in at the number 25 spot with a score of only 57.3. See the full rankings below.

“Competition amongst major metros was fierce in our first year of compiling the dOI Rankings with several cities vying for the number one spot, and sock drawer organization proved to be a critical factor for several,” said Steve Shivers, co-founder and CEO of doxo. “We’re all overwhelmed with junk mail, and every year at tax time, most of us vow ‘next year will be different.’”

The “Most Organized City” rankings and their overall doxo Organizational Index scores are:

dOI RANK Metro Area dOI Score

Boston, MA 97.7

Raleigh, NC 95.7

Miami, FL 90.1

Sacramento CA 89.2

Tampa, FL 87.4

Orlando, FL 86.2

Los Angeles, CA 86.1

San Francisco, CA 86.1

Charlotte, NC 86.0

Philadelphia, PA 82.8

New York, NY 79.2

Pittsburgh, PA 78.4

Cleveland, OH 77.4

Denver, CO 75.8

St. Louis, MO 75.0

Minneapolis, MN 74.1

Seattle, WA 74.0

Phoenix, AZ 72.4

Chicago, IL 71.1

Portland, OR 69.8

Dallas, TX 67.2

Washington, D.C. 66.2

Atlanta, GA 63.6

Detroit, MI 58.1

Houston, TX 57.3

“We wanted to recognize some of the places where organization is a priority,” continued Shivers. “So, for those of you that can’t even read this because you are buried up to your eyeballs in paper clutter – April 16th is your chance to make good on that promise to be more organized in the coming year.”

Residents of the Sunshine and Golden States should have a rosy outlook this tax season, with three cities in both Florida and California cities making the top 10. North Carolina followed close behind with both Raleigh and Charlotte in the upper rankings. Texas, on the other hand, has some work to do with two cities ranking in the bottom five.

For individuals looking to improve their personal organization index, doxo is the perfect tool.
For months, we’ve been fielding requests to get a doxo application available on Android. Today, I’m happy to announce we…

For months, we’ve been fielding requests to get a doxo application available on Android. Today, I’m happy to announce we have an early “beta version” available here. You must have a doxo account to use the beta application as you cannot yet create an account from the app.

What can I do with it today?

The current “doxo for Android beta” application will be useful to you if you’re looking for a way to take photos and upload them to your existing doxo Providers and Folders.

You can also use the application to view your important files while on the go. If you have files or information you’ve put into doxo, they are available to you within the beta application.

How do I install the “doxo for Android beta”?

3 short steps:

Go to www.doxo.com/android from your Android mobile device

Click the download link on the page and follow the instructions (you may have to enable non-Marketplace apps in the settings on your phone)

Subscribe to the android-beta email list so that we can tell you when new builds are available (see below)

Subscribe for android-beta updates

We highly recommend that you subscribe to our android-beta mailing list so that we can tell you when new features and builds of the application are posted.

    Submit

That’s it for now! Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting stuff in the weeks ahead.

It’s April third. Do you know where your tax return is?

If you live in Boston, chances are good it’s already in your bank account.

A new ranking by doxo, an e-payment solution site and “digital filing cabinet” looked at the most organized cities in the U.S., and found (surprise, surprise) that Bean Towners are among the most obsessive-compulsive in the nation when it comes to detail-oriented tasks like on-time tax filing.

Oh, the joy of moving money electronically. Banks wire funds but charge 20-plus dollars for the privilege. Credit card companies can move money virtually–but they take a healthy percentage of every dime they touch. Web-based tools like PayPal let you deposit and withdraw money–but there can be a three-day wait for the funds to clear.
